In seasons 1-8, the shippers put bids on two shipments that are listed on uShip in the form of a reverse auction. The bids are typically presented with statements about the possible costs and risks and the reasons and skills. The task is typically assigned to the bidder who has the lowest amount after the auction has ended. However, at the discretion of the buyer it could be assigned to a bidder who has a better ratings from previous customers. Feedback ratings are used to break tie for the bidder with the lowest. Season 9 has shippers receiving their loads from a shipping company. The bidding process isn't depicted. Shippers load their cargo and attempt to deliver it in good order by the deadline set by the receiver or client. Client feedback ratings are displayed when the loads are delivered. Each shipper's revenue, as well as the expenses (fuel, labor and late-delivery penalties), is displayed on-screen at the end. subtracted from the bid amount to determine the overall gain or loss. Sometimes, a shipper might arrange to haul additional loads during the same trip. The money is added to their total. Sometimes, the shipper might not be able to finish the task due to concerns about load size/weight and road safety. On occasion, one shipper will enlist the services of a third party to complete an assignment. The shippers will then determine on how to divide the proceeds. The progress of each shipment is interrupted by humorous comments from other shippers during seasons 1-8.
