Lucy Liu, an American voice actress producer director and singer is also an accomplished actress. Being a smart and beautiful actress, she serves as a role model to numerous Asian actors who are in Hollywood who wish to make it big. Following a string of early performances in popular shows her fame was boosted by joining the cast of the legal comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected fame into major screen roles in films such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame she also acted as the lead in some failures on the box-office including Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced characters with prominent voices. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen roles failed to bring her much success. Southland is a highly praised crime drama that established Liu's status as a top actress.
