Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay Brodie was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. She was a member of the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative literary talents and remarkable expertise in researching to produce the amazing psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945. It was entitled:"No Man has My History. It was a title taken from a funeral address that Joseph Smith delivered. In the speech, he said: You didn't know me and you hadn't known my heart. My life story isn't known to everyone. It is not possible for me to reveal it. Writes the 29-year-old Fawn at the time: Ever since that day of truth, at least three-score writers have stepped up to the plate. Certain people have attempted to make him god, others have been accusing him of being a liar. A few even attempted an invasive diagnosis. But the problem is the documents do not exist. They're just inconsistent. It's difficult to organize these records, to separate first-hand accounts from the third-hand versions and put Mormon and non Mormon stories into a coherent mosaic. It is fascinating and informative. Fawn brodie was professional and dedicated to her work. Her research and writing rewarded her with world-wide fame: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil Drives (1959) Scourge Of The Southern Thomas Jefferson. A Personal Historiography (1974) as well as posthumously Richard Nixon.
